I'm trying to connect to the internet but I receive one of the following error connection codes: 678, 633, 691, 692, 619, 680, 768, 732, 718.
Please refer to the following situations according to the received error code:
678: Make sure that the ISP number you are dialling is correct and that your phone line is connected and works properly. In case the call baring service is activated on the line, you have to contact your telecommunications provider in order to have this service deactivated.
633: You have installed a communications software program that is occupying the communication port. Usually this kind of software relates to a fax utility, mobile phone etc. You have to uninstall or temporarily disable these programs before using the port to connect to the Internet.
691: Check that your ISDN account, username and password are valid and correct. Contact your ISP to verify them.
692: Check that the modem is connected properly to the mains and the power led is on. Check your installation and verify that the device is working properly. Use the diagnostics procedure (as described in the modem's users manual) to see if you receive a response from the modem, when sending AT commands. Check also the "Advanced/ Extra Settings" field (Device Manager > Modems > netmod > Properties > Advanced tab > Extra Settings) for any mistyped or unsupported command. Reset the netÌod and/or restart your computer.
619: Check if your ISP is using another phone number for the ISDN connection. Reset the netÌod and/or restart your computer.
680: Check your settings on the connection icon as it is possible that you selected an analogue modem for the Internet connection (e.g. an internal-card 56Kbps modem) and not the netMod
768: Check the advanced extra initialization commands (Device Manager > Modems > netmod > Properties > Advanced tab > Extra Settings). Delete any unknown command.
732: There is a problem with the PPP (protocol) negotiation, contact with your ISP in order to configure your setting according to your ISDN account (64Kbps or 128Kbps).
718: Check the properties of your connection (from its icon) and click "configure". From the hardware features list select only the option "enable hardware flow control". In case of failure, delete the old connection and create a new one.
Start of pageMy PC is attached to the netMod through a USB connection. While I am connected to the Internet I am facing a lot of problems. My connection is either interrupted or not responding, while my computer crashes often and unexpectedly with blue screen (or restarted).
Check if there is any conflict between netMod with any other devices of your system. In case your PC is equipped with an internal card-modem, we recommend installing the netMod to the communication port COM3. Remove both modems and reconnect the USB cable without restarting your computer. Check that you have installed the specific USB drivers for your main board USB system and not standard or generic drivers. Contact the computer's manufacturer to help you about this subject.
Update your firmware and the USB drivers for netMod according to the installation guides of our webpage.
Alternatively, if your computer is equipped with serial (RS232) ports then you can use a serial port connection to the netMod. The ports COM1 & COM2 use specific IRQs (interrupt request) from the BIOS without sharing these IRQ with any other device.
Start of pageI plug the netMod but my computer does not recognize it or recognizes it as an "unknown device".
Check that your line and the power led is working properly. Try to reset the netMod (black button inside) or plug the USB cable to another USB port of your computer. Afterwards, restart your computer and open the Device Manager. If you find the netMod device ticked with an exclamation mark, then remove (uninstall) this device. Then run the installation driver setup program and plug the USB cable. Do not use long connection cables. The limit for a USB modem cable is 5 meters and for the serial port is 10 meters. In case your computer is located far away from the netMod, you can extend the U line cable.
Start of pageI don't know which driver to select or how to install my netMod if I don't have any drivers.
The drivers that are available on our website work well with all home-computer operating systems. Check: engl_install-guides.htm
However, you can install the netMod without using any specific drivers. Just connect it via a serial RS232 port as standard modem 33600bps.This modem is available to the most windows operating systems. You can install this type of modem by using the "Add hardware" wizard, skipping search and selecting "from a specified location".
For Macintosh operating systems, please use the available script drivers or select (from the list of modems) the "3com impact isdn 64K" (which is a compatible modem).
Start of pageÉ have tried to use many fax programs with netMod but none worked properly.
The only compatible with netMod available software program is "RVS-COM Lite". It is a program created by Living Bytes and gives you the ability to send-receive faxes and also to make phone calls from your PC. For more information on how to acquire this program, please visit their web site www.isdn-gate.de. This is just a recommendation notice and it does not imply by any means that INTRACOM is endorsing or supports this specific company or its products. Alternatively, you can use an analogue fax/data modem, which you can connect to one of netMod's analogue ports, in order to use your favourite fax program.
