Currently, service providers need to maintain existing Intelligent Network (IN) services and also develop new value-added services. Telecom operators are under pressure to offer new services to the market and maximize the usage of IN platforms.
New Generation IN (NG IN) is one of the most eagerly-anticipated changes in telcos, posing unique challenges for both operators and service providers. NGINius-Apps™, the NG IN solution from INTRACOM TELECOM, optimally address these challenges and allows service providers to offer advanced voice and data services over multiple networks, giving users the perception of a single, unified network. The offered solution combines best-of-breed, carrier-grade HP OpenCall platforms with robust innovative NGIN applications developed by INTRACOM TELECOM.
Since 2001, when a strategic partnership with HP was established, INTRACOM TELECOM has been given multiple times the "HP Partner of the Year" Award for its excellence in partnership commitment, sales, customer support, building of innovative solutions, and development of solutions on top of HP OpenCall.
Today, INTRACOM TELECOM offers a wide range of New Generation IN applications covering all operator needs in several domains, including:
INTRACOM TELECOM, manned with a dynamic team of IT and telecom professionals, has the capabilities to design and deploy any turnkey NG IN project.
INTRACOM TELECOM's NGINius-Apps™ have carefully been designed to offer:
INTRACOM TELECOM has developed a wide range of state-of-the-art NG IN applications for VPN, Intelligent Routing, Location & Roaming and Messaging & Signaling domains. All these applications are described below:
Application | Description |
---|---|
VPN & WirelessOffice (VPN / WO) |
Offers the functionality of a private telephone network using the existing telecom infrastructure. Business customers are given the benefits of a (physical)private network without shouldering ownership and maintenance burdens. This application offering incorporates:
|
Application | Description |
---|---|
Home Office Zone (HZ) | Brings more personalization advantages, by integrating mobility and location. This service enables subscribers to use their mobile, instead of their fixed line phone, in a specific pre-defined geographical area. Subscribers are given all the advantages of mobile and fixed telephony in one. Different charging plans / rules can be offered when the subscriber enters the Home / Office area. |
Virtual Home Environment (VHE) | Enables mobile operators to provide a variety of services for roaming subscribers, attract and retain high-end customers, increase international roaming traffic and generate roaming revenues. Automatic dialed number correction (according to home network dialing rules) can be offered as an option. |
multi SIM (m-SIM) | Enables mobile subscribers to use multiple SIM cards while keeping the same MSISDN. The subscriber can configure the service behavior, i.e. how to receive voice calls, SMS, MMS and data. The service configuration can be based on the calling party, location, time and service. All SIM cards can be used in parallel without restriction. |
Gateway Location Register (GLR) | A network node, between the VPMN and HPMN, hosting visiting roamers. This node provides network operators with the ability to reduce inter-operator signaling with roaming partners, thus enabling to control the inbound roamers' activities within the network and reducing expenses. By using intelligent techniques, this service can also create advanced business reports. |
Roamer's Voice Mail (RoamerVM) | Routes calls to the forwarded number of the home network, eliminating international legs and loss of signaling information. This service enables seamless caller access to voicemail, caller-ID retrieval and direct forwarding of calls, to voicemail or to any preset forwarding destination. |
Application | Description | |
---|---|---|
FreePhone (FPH) | Enables the provisioning of charge-free access to specific numbers. By using reverse charging, the company / organization (service subscriber) undertakes the full cost of the call. Using routing functions, the served company is able to accept the incoming calls at a different location. | |
Premium Rate (PRM) | Allows the transfer of information over a telephone line, at a higher charging rate, compared to the rate of an ordinary call. Examples of such information are: weather forecasts, stock market information, horoscopes, etc. | |
Universal Access Number (UAN) | Allows the company / organization to provide their customers a unique, virtual access number, which is independent of the geographical location. | |
Emergency Call Routing (EMCY) | Advanced service providing optimal routing for emergency calls. This service can be deployed in fixed, mobile and VoIP networks providing service convergence capabilities to modern telecommunications service providers. | |
Sponsored Call (SC) | Offers an alternative promotion option for companies wishing to be advertised. The promoted company undertakes a part of the call cost in case the user (caller) accepts to listen to an advertisement before a call is established. Different advertising announcements or voice prompts can be provided depending on the location of the user, demographics, B-number,etc. This service is applicable for mobile / fixed / IP networks. | |
Intelligent voting (inVOT) | Allows content service providers to host competitions and voting events offered to the public by the media (TV and radio stations). An advanced Mass Call handling mechanism is offered for large-scale events. Voters are able to participate in the events, either by initiating calls (mobile / fixed / VoIP), or by sending an SMS / MMS. Different winner selection methods are supported: by voting option, every Nth voter, random winner selection, etc. | |
Number Portability (iNP) | A legal liability for telecom regulators in most markets worldwide. This service enables the user to hold his / her telephone number in the event of switching to a different service provider. The necessary logic and interfaces are implemented according to the NP and MNP standards, while GSM, IMS and fixed networks can simultaneously be served. | |
NG Quality & Cost based Routing (NG-QCR) | Advanced routing management service helping operators to implement policy-based routing techniques, such as Least Cost Routing or Quality-Based Routing. Least Cost Routing can handle the operator routing policies regardless of the existing switching platforms. It is switch vendor-agnostic, handling all routing changes centrally and in real time. Every call is handled separately and routed according to the operator's defined business rules. The routing selection is based on the data and parameters found in the routing table, which is imported from external sources. | |
Session & Event Access Control (ACES) | Enables an advanced control mechanism (barring / unbarring) for access to different services (e.g. special information, high-rated services, etc.). The service logic is based on the usage of subscriber controlled screening methods like black, white and exception lists |
Application | Description |
---|---|
Notify Me | Allows subscribers to reach their desired party without endlessly redialing until the called party answers. This service notifies the calling party that the called subscriber is available and is able to answer the call. |
Advanced Messaging Services (AMS) |
Subscribers can register to the following messaging services by sending text commands through SMS:
|
Welcome SMS / MMS | Provides operators with a quick and cost-effective way to communicate tariff-related and short code dialing information, active promotions and bonuses, new product offerings, or any other type of information to inbound roamers. In addition, the home operator is enabled to send information to outbound roamers regarding the country, the network they are roaming in, or any other type of information that would be beneficial to travelers. |
All the NG IN applications made available from INTRACOM TELECOM have been developed on top of the HP Opencall suite of platforms.
HP OpenCall is a family of leading, standard-based telecom platforms that are cost-effective, carrier-grade, while supporting multi-networks / services.
The OpenCall Convergent Communication Platform (OCCP) is a federating platform, which provides access to network elements and service enablers, and facilitates their control. This platform can also be used as a service controller for PSTN, 2.5G / 3G networks, or as an Application Server (AS) in IMS. OCCP offers a Java-based service execution environment capable to host the service logic.
The OpenCall Media Platform (OCMP) is a scalable, carrier-grade IP multimedia server and a MRF (Media Resource Function), enabling rapid development and deployment of audio and video services for IVR, multimedia portals, multimedia messaging, conferencing and other advanced multimedia applications.
