Working Environment

INTRACOM (the company from which INTRACOM TELECOM was derived) has been distinguished as one of the top 10 Greek (4th) and one of the top 100 European companies with the best working environments according to the "Best Workplaces in Europe - 2004", an international contest organized by the Great Place To Work® Institute (www.eu100best.org/gptw/index.php) in cooperation with ALBA (Athens Laboratory of Business Administration-www.alba.edu.gr).

INTRACOM TELECOM offers Greek and foreign university graduates the opportunity to participate in research projects as part of their thesis work or during their internship, sharing with them the latest developments in cutting-edge technology. INTRACOM TELECOM has also a close collaboration with Athens Information Technology (AIT), a high-level non-profit educational and research centre founded by INTRACOM HOLDINGS. Together, the institutions carry out joint advanced research projects.

Hellenic Network for CSR

In 2001 INTRACOM had been a founding member of the Hellenic Network for Corporate Social Responsibility. Since then, INTRACOM has been actively contributing to the growth and advance of corporate social responsibility. (www.csrhellas.gr). INTRACOM TELECOM actively contributes to CSR principles though its policies, environmental sensitivity, and sponsorship programmes.

Socially Responsible Indices

Investors throughout the world recognize INTRACOM as a socially responsible group of companies. INTRACOM has been included in the Storebrand "Best in Class - Environmental and Social Performance index" (www.storebrand.com) since July 2003.

Community

INTRACOM TELECOM is deeply committed to its role as a "corporate citizen", and promotes a comprehensive social program through its active support of a wide range of educational, environmental, and cultural activities. Through sponsorships and donations, INTRACOM TELECOM encourages scientific research and supports valuable initiatives in the areas of health, education, and the arts.

Social Accountability Standard SA 8000

INTRACOM TELECOM has been certified with the Social Accountability standard SA 8000 (www.sa.intl.org). This standard ensures that INTRACOM TELECOM offers an excellent and safe working environment where non-discriminatory policies are applied and provides an equal opportunity environment to all employees, irrespective of gender, age, nationality, or religion. Also employee trade union rights are respected, and health and safety procedures are faithfully adhered to.

Independent auditors conduct strict biannual assessments to ensure that the company acts in compliance with the SA 8000 standard.
