Athens, July 01, 2010 - INTRACOM TELECOM, a part of SITRONICS, today announced the signing of a frame agreement with Rolaware, a dynamic broadband services provider in Greece, to supply INTRACOM TELECOM's WiBAS Point-to-Multipoint systems.
Under this three-year frame agreement worth €3.4 million, INTRACOM TELECOM's WiBAS system will enable Rolaware to provide broadband corporate wireless access services to its business customers in Athens, Thessaloniki, Patra ,Chania and other key cities in Greece. Using the WiBAS system, Rolaware can also provide wholesale backhaul services to mobile 2G/3G/4G operators.
WiBAS operates at the 26 GHz and 28 GHz frequency bands. It is optimized for applications requiring high availability and high capacity on demand using methods such as Adaptive Coding and Modulation (up to 256 QAM) statistical multiplexing and dynamic bandwidth allocation. WiBAS concurrently backhauls 2G and 3G traffic enabling mobile operators to achieve significant CapEx and OpEx savings as compared to traditional solutions. Users of WiBAS will experience the efficient utilization of the point-to-multipoint network architecture combined with the highest capacity available in the market today. This carrier class product fully preserves the quality of service for voice and broadband data applications.
According to Rolaware officials, the company has chosen WiBAS as their preferred Wireless Access and Transmission solution based on its leading technical characteristics, future-proof capabilities and high performance enabling significant cost reductions. Through this investment, Rolaware aims to activate broadband services to its customers in a short period of time, while benefiting from the widely renowned equipment and the countrywide support that INTRACOM TELECOM offers.
