Athens - 10 November 2009 - INTRACOM TELECOM, a part of SITRONICS, through its subsidiary INTRAROM, has signed an 11.8 million euro contract (including VAT) with the Romanian Ministry of Administration and Internal Affairs for the provision of an IT system for Schengen INformation System II (SINS), a secure governmental system used by several European countries.
Within the framework of this agreement, INTRAROM will provide an integrated system which will maintain and distribute information for border control, national security and law enforcement both on national and EU levels. Implementation of this system is a prerequisite for Romania in joining Shenghen space.
The company will deliver a fully functional system that includes all the hardware and software components. Documentation and training, installation, configuration, set-up procedures, as well as any product which has resulted from SINS development and implementation are also included in this agreement. The project will be completed within 10 months.
INTRAROM was awarded this contract after winning the relevant open public tender organized by the Ministry of Administration and Internal Affairs financed by the EU within the program Schengen Facility/ RO-FSCH.
