INTRACOM TELECOM deploys End-to-End WiMAX Network for ZAIN Bahrain (formerly MTC-VODAFONE) through its subsidiary INTRACOM MIDDLE EAST

Athens, September 11, 2007 - INTRACOM TELECOM, a part of SITRONICS Telecom Solutions business division, announced today that its subsidiary INTRACOM MIDDLE EAST is deploying the End-to-End WiMAX Network for ZAIN Bahrain, one of the leading telecommunications operators in the country. This USD 10.2 million total-valued project will be completed by the end of this month.

INTRACOM MIDDLE EAST is in the final stage of delivering a turn-key ISP Network employing WiMAX access technology to enable portable, fixed and nomadic voice and data services over the air. This state-of-the-art broadband solution will provide wireless high-speed internet and voice services complementing traditional wireline infrastructure in the Kingdom of Bahrain. "The introduction of ZAIN's new wireless, high-speed broadband internet, is the next logical step in our service offering to the Kingdom, as Bahrain has always been the regional pioneer in the telecommunication services arena," said Dr. Ahmed Al Shatti, COO of ZAIN Bahrain. "We have proceeded with INTRACOM MIDDLE EAST, the preferred technology partner for the deployment of the WiMAX network, based on the company's proven track record in carrying out large-scale projects in the region," added Dr. Ahmed Al Shatti.

Commenting on the successful progress of works, Mr. Stavros Vougas, Managing Director of INTRACOM MIDDLE EAST, said: "ZAIN is a world-class operator, launching truly innovative services to the Kingdom of Bahrain. We are proud to realize their efforts on this large-scale, complex deployment, and are committing our regional expertise to fulfill this challenging project," added Mr. Vougas. Mr. A. Manos, Managing Director of INTRACOM TELECOM, commented: "INTRACOM TELECOM, having been involved in the evolution of WiMAX since its very first steps, very early recognized its applicability and potential in the EEMEA region as a technology for the provisioning of advanced broadband services. Over the past few years, we have been investing both in developing technical expertise, as well as our service delivery capability in our region in order to be able to play a leading role in the deployment of the WiMAX technology and its full integration with the current and Next Generation Networks of our customers."

The project is executed through the use of cutting edge technologies provided by Cisco Systems for the ISP Network and Redline Communications for WiMAX access. Additionally, INTRACOM MIDDLE EAST will use ZAIN's existing operations and business support systems in the provision of the new WiMAX services.
