INTRACOM TELECOM signed a 2.8 mil. USD contract for the ICE in Costa Rica

INTRACOM TELECOM, a part of SITRONICS Telecommunication Solutions business division, signed a contract, worth approximately 2.8 million USD, with Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad y de Comunicacion (ICE) for the provision of ISDN terminals and the extension of relevant Centralised Management System. This contract is an extension to the previous one, worth approximately 2 million USD, implemented within 2003.

State-owned Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad and its subsidiary RACSA are the only providers of both fixed-line and mobile telephony, Internet and data communications in Costa Rica. Costa Rica is served by a relatively modern telecom infrastructure and has the second highest Internet penetration for Latin America, after Chile.

Within the framework of the above-mentioned contract, ICE ordered a new quantity of ISDN Network Termination units, netMod type, designed and produced by INTRACOM TELECOM, as well as the upgrade of the installed Centralised Network Management System.

INTRACOM TELECOM has an extensive experience in the design and production of ISDN Network Terminating Units which have been sold to more than 40 countries worldwide. INTRACOM ISDN Network Termination Units have been distinguished among others for their interoperability with all types of Digital Switches, their compatibility to all the widely known Operating Systems and for their adaptability to different operators' technical specifications.
