INTRACOM Awarded Multi-Million USD Contract to Build the ITC Data Network in Saudi Arabia

INTRACOM Middle East was recently awarded a contract valued at 22.2 Million USD to build, the ITC IP- Network in Saudi Arabia and implement the Operational & Business Support Systems (OSS/BSS).

Integrated Telecom Company Ltd. (ITC), a licensed data service provider in Saudi Arabia, will soon be serving commercial and residential users with state-of-the-art data communications offerings, and all from a turn-key solution provided by INTRACOM, the leading multinational Information & Communications Technology (ICT) solutions provider with headquarters in Greece.

The two-year, multimillion US dollar deal will see INTRACOM, along with other reputable communications equipment providers, build, operate and manage the IP backbone of the ITC network, offering the region services to include: digital leased lines, broadband services, VPN services, IP, Metro Ethernet, MPLS, wireless communications, international data gateway services, and international data traffic transit.

"Together with INTRACOM and our technology partners, Cisco and Redline Communications, ITC is building one of the Middle East's most sophisticated, highest performing communications network that will enable commercial users to excel in their respective industries and residential users to experience true value and quality," said Dr. Mohammed H. Omar, President and CEO of ITC.

"Our choice of INTRACOM was based on its experience in total integration and operations services, its existing partnership with our technology vendors, as well as its past experience in deploying such large scale complex projects in other countries," Dr. Omar added.

Critical to the success of the project are the deployment of IP network infrastructure, NOC, and Call Center based on Cisco Systems; WiMAX technology, based on Redline Communications products and solutions; and reliable integrated operational and business support systems that will enable ITC to expand its offerings in the market through diversified business activities in the future. The data centers for IT infrastructure will be based on Sun Microsystems products and solutions.

"Middle East communications demands are growing at an enormous rate, and major regional service providers are looking to work with companies that have a proven track record of implementing large-scale solutions for global carriers. That's where INTRACOM has a definite advantage over competitors," said Stavros Vougas, Managing Director of INTRACOM Middle East.

"The work that we are doing for ITC employs the latest technologies that cater for large scale data and telco services, and is built around specific business objectives, not an exercise in technology deployment," concluded Vougas.
